Peter Howell Elementary School at a Glance

Howell Elementary lives by its “S.O.A.R. with Four” motto, which encourages students to show respect, be on time and ready to learn, act safely and be responsible always. Howell creates students who are problem-solvers with high-level thinking, high-level questions and project work in classrooms. We offer a variety of programs to enhance learning, including OMA (Opening Minds through the Arts), GATE (Gifted and Talented Education), Exceptional Education, dance, music and art integrated instruction, math club, Student Council and sports such as cross country, basketball, track and Girls on the Run.
Jaquetta Alexander Jaquetta Alexander
Jaquetta Alexander was born in Indiana and after high school moved to the southwest to attend the University of Arizona. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1998, completing her student teaching at Ford Elementary School, and began her teaching career at Erickson Elementary School. While there she completed her Master of Education in Educational Leadership. She also taught at Van Horne Elementary School and Peter Howell Elementary School, teaching grades kindergarten to fourth over the span of her teaching career. Outside of her teaching career, she held several other positions, such as Reading Interventionist, Integration Specialist, and Teacher Coach before becoming the proud principal of Peter Howell Elementary School in 2014.
